5 Small Changes That Make Getting Dressed Feel Easier After 40
Share
Hi friends,
One of the most common things I hear from women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s is this: “I have nothing to wear… even though my closet is full.”
If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. The good news? You don’t need a whole new wardrobe. Often, small shifts in how you think about and approach your clothes make the biggest difference.
Here are five gentle changes that have helped many of our clients feel more confident and calm in the mornings:
- Stop Shopping Your Closet Like a Store Instead of looking for “an outfit,” start with one piece you love and build around it.
- Create a Uniform Having 2–3 go-to formulas (like our Effortless Errands look) removes daily decision fatigue.
- Focus on Fit Over Fashion A perfectly fitting top in a basic color will make you feel better than a trendy piece that doesn’t quite fit right.
- Edit Ruthlessly Remove anything that makes you feel “meh.” Your closet should only contain pieces that make you feel good.
- Dress for the Life You Actually Live Stop saving beautiful clothes for “special occasions.” Wear them on Tuesdays.
Which of these feels most relevant to you right now? I’d love to hear in the comments.
With warmth, Jenna
